We are committed to working with residents again to minimise any inconvenience in 2020.
Resident Liaison Teams will be visiting properties located on the competitive rally route which will be closed during the day. We will also visit residents who are located on approach roads, some of which may have access restrictions.
About two weeks before the event, all affected residents will be provided with a Residents Handbook which will detail all the information about the event including timings and access arrangements.
Residents will also be provided with Resident Access Passes which will also allow free entry to Spectator Areas on the stages.
Frequently Asked Questions
WHY WILL THE ROADS WILL BE CLOSED?
Roads that form the Rally’s Special Stages are formally closed by a Motor Race Order under the Road Traffic Act (1988). This restricts vehicle and pedestrian movements on the closed roads to Rally Traffic and Residents living on the stages, between the road closure start and finish times.
Planning for the event is conducted in conjunction with the Three Counties Safety Advisory Group, including West Mercia and Gloucestershire Police, County Councils and other emergency services.
We will be liaising with local residents who are directly affected by the road closures and are constantly working with County Councils to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
WHICH ROADS WILL BE CLOSED?
A map of all road closures for the 2020 rally will be detailed above shortly before the event.
If you live on the route you will be visited in person by a member of our Resident Liaison Team. Roads closed will be appropriately signed a week before the event.
WHAT ACCESS WILL THERE BE FOR RESIDENTS WHO WISH TO GET IN AND OUT OF THEIR PROPERTIES DURING THE DAY?
There will be periods during the day when Residents are able to access/egress their property and these will be advised in the Residents Handbooks handed out two weeks before the rally. Residents will be given passes to allow access to their properties.
HOW LONG WILL THE ROADS BE CLOSED FOR?
Times of the road closures will be detailed in the Residents Handbooks. Road closure times will also be detailed above shortly before the event. We have kept all road closures to a minimum in order to make the event safe for everyone – residents, competitors, spectators and marshals.
WHAT ARRANGEMENTS ARE THERE FOR EMERGENCY SERVICE ACCESS TO THE CLOSED ROADS?
Emergency access to all properties and residents on the route is maintained at all. If you require an emergency service, dial 999 as usual and then call your stage resident liaison officer. Appropriate arrangements will then be made by Rally HQ for the arrival of the emergency service(s).
